Al Hirt Trumpet Solos

Al Hirt had a big, brassy sound that could fill up a room. His playing on dixieland tunes was tremendously powerful and exciting. Though Al Hirt played at a dixieland club in New Orleans for much of his career, he considered himself a commercial player. With his dazzling technique, range and tremendous sound, Al Hirt could play anything he wanted to play. Fortunately, he left us with many, many great LP recordings which are now available on CD or MP3 for downloading (immediate gratification!) Listen closely for his one-of-a-kind style and trumpet playing. He played with a lot of flare - check out the track, Stranger in Paradise, to get a taste of Al Hirt's wonderful sound.
